L could hear some hesitancy left in Matsuda's voice, but that was okay. He'd predicted this reaction. The young detective would not be getting any super sensitive information anyway.
"I need you to keep an eye on Light's correspondences, his emails and phone calls. Try to be discrete, but if he catches on, back off and report back to me at this number."

Matsuda was not shocked that L still suspected Light, but he felt he needed to ask, "Why did you suspect Light, Ryuzaki?"

"However, after spending more time with him, the orchestrated way he removed all possible evidence against himself was too convenient. Too coincidental. Light is Kira, or at least an accessory to Kira's crimes. Now I just need more solid proof."

"Yes Ryuzaki." Matsuda said, he clicked the phone off and thought for a moment, how would he be able to get information on Light without getting caught, Light was the smartest person in the task force.
