L's knees were beginning to hurt from Beyond's tight grip. Best not to overly agitate the man who could potentially sell his name to Light (not that L believed Beyond ever would).
L thought back to how he'd quarantined Light for the few weeks before the younger man officially joined the investigation, and replied, "Of course not. I'd treat you how I treat all my suspects and detainees."
