Near sat down in the center of a city of domino's and action figures, waiting for all the SPK members to arrive.

Hal rolled her eyes as she watched the grown man playing witht he children's toys.
"Hey, boss," She greeted pointedly.

Near looked up at Hal once more. "I do not mind you know. I was just wondering why you get upset when I talk about Mello. Do you....have feelings for him, Hal?" Near looked back down at the tower of domino's he was building, waiting for Hal to reply.

Near smiled to himself. "Ah....I see." Near had suddenly stopped building the tower of Dominos and thought of a plan that might help catch Kira. "Hal......." Near who was curling his hair, sounded un-easy. "I know this may sound strange.....but.....please, invite Mello here. I think it's a good idea to...possibly.....work together If Mello is willing to."

"I know he won't. But neither of us can surpass L.....at least.....not alone, nor can we catch Kira alone. This is why.....we must work together...please try to understand." Near faced Hal again, and rested his head on his knee.

She could hardly disagree. They were getting nowhere on their own. Maybe working together would make a difference.
