"Good. Mello?" L tried one more time. When the blond still didn't answer, he frowned and decided to contact Matt. The game loving teenager would probably know what was up.
Looking up the number, L punched it in and connected all four lines. He waited as it dialed.

"Your call cannot be connected at the moment..." an automated voice spoke.
L did something and hung up on Matt's line. The kid was probably too engrossed in his Gameboy or something to that effect.
"Well, Near, Mello, like I said before, SPK headquarters, noon, two days. I'll see you then."
With that, L hung up.
(...Mello and Near are still connected)

"Are you sure?" Near was shocked at Mello's behavior. He sounded somewhat upset to him. "Hey, Mello...do you really think that....this is L? I sort of have my doubts...but...it sounds like is personality, and how did he know all of that....information about us?"
