L made some notes about Mello's possible abandonment issues. Almost all orphans experienced a type of anxiety about being left alone again, so it wasn't unusual. Even he felt a little homesick during his time underground.

"Don't worry yourself about it," Mello replied

Near was silent. He hope Mello wouln't have an emotional breakdown. Just like when he left Wammy's after L's 'death.'

Mello tapped his fingers against his phone. The conversation was going nowhere, but he was putting off having to stop talking and deal with his own thoughts. He didn't even have a motorbike to take out his frustrations anymore.

"If it is the real L...what would you first say to him?"

Mello frowned. "I... don't know..." What did you say to your childhood hero who'd pretended to be dead for this long?

Near frowned as well. "To tell you the truth......neither do I."

Mello sighed. He wasn't sure whether he'd rather L actually was dead. This had opened up all of his anger and frustration all over again. But at the same time... he thought about what it would be like if it tuned out to be a trick and L was dead after all. He couldn't deny that he was looking forward to seeing L in a way.

L was confused. What did Near mean, 'what would you first say to him'? Didn't they already say something? ...strange.

After a few moments, Mello spoke again. "I wonder if he wears different clothes now."

L looked down at himself. He was still wearing his baggy jeans, though he traded his white top for a beige one (to better hide the coffee stains). Maybe he'd wear something different at their meeting. Just to shake things up a bit.

Near laughed a little. "I think some of his ...'unique' fashion scence rubbed off on us."

"On you, maybe. I don't wear pyjamas all day," he replied "And... don't say I look like a girl."

Near laughed. "You do where a vest like thing, that shows your stomach some."

"... well I've never seen a girl in one. Whereas I'm pretty sure girls wear pyjamas."
