L caught the backhand full on and toppled a bit to the side. A little ways away from the maniac, he managed to jab the panic button on his belt buckle.

His eyes darted backwards. Window. Lamp. He pulled the lamp free from the wall, acting like he was going to hit L with it.

He swung the lamp at L, deliberately arcing just above him and flinging it at the window. He leapt towards the gaping hole, climbing up onto the sill

Beyond's twisting swung L's arm into the jagged glass and it sliced his wrist. "Shit!" L's grip loosened.

""Undskyld, min kaerlighed..." he muttered in Danish, pushing himself over the broken glass and holding tight to the windowsill as he swung off the sill, dangling over the edge. There was a full dumpster below, he could aim for that.
