L called a driver to the location on another phone, making sure to tell him to keep his face hidden.
Speaking into the cell with Beyond, L said, "Someone'll be there in 10 minutes."

While he waited, L idly went over once again the cases of the London murders. Rather gruesome; there were some sick individuals in the world. But beyond pissing Kira off, these were --

B hummed inanely as he sat in L's car. He was wearing his usual get-up of baggy shirt and jeans and had applied his makeup again to be sure. He also had a switchblade strapped to his thigh, not intending to use it but because it had become a new ritual of his to keep a knife. They were useful little things...

L's mind was working a mile a minute, trying to put together any scrap of evidence that would pin it on Beyond. The motive would just be too perfect.
(Is there anything significant about the crime scenes L should notice? Any pattern from the previous ones L might see in these ones? Sorry, I haven't been following up on B's exploits out of Japan...)

Beyond sauntered over the threshold, hands thrust deep in his pocket. He fished out a sachet of sugar, tearing it open with his teeth and pouring the contents into his mouth.
